What is a Blood Elf?
Blood Elves are an elven people from World of Warcraft. They call themselves the Sin’dorei, which means “children of the blood.”
After the Scourge ruined much of Quel’Thalas, the survivors rebuilt around Silvermoon and the restored Sunwell. This fan-made generator is inspired by their names and is not affiliated with Blizzard Entertainment.

Sound and structure
Blood Elf naming conventions
Say Halduron Brightwing out loud. Halduron has a smooth middle and a firm ending.
Brightwing closes with one clear image. That mix of a flowing first name and a vivid surname is a useful pattern, not a fixed rule.
01 · First names
Build a clear rhythm
Use two to four spoken beats so the name stays easy to say.
Blend L, R, S, V, and Th sounds with open vowels.
Study Liadrin, Rommath, and Lor’themar for short and long forms.
Add an apostrophe only when it makes the rhythm clearer.
02 · Gender
Use endings as a guide
Female
Try open endings such as -a, -ira, -elle, or -enia.
Male
Try firmer endings such as -ar, -on, -eth, or -or.
Neutral
Blend both styles with endings such as -iel, -aen, -is, or -yn.
These are creative guides. Pick the sound that fits your character.
03 · Surnames
Use a family name or compound
Sunstrider, Brightwing, and Sunreaver join two clear ideas. Theron shows that a Blood Elf surname can also stand on its own.

One shared past
Blood Elf and High Elf names
Blood Elves and High Elves share roots in the same Thalassian culture. Their names can use many of the same sounds and family patterns.
History and loyalty split the two groups, so backstory often shows more than the name alone. For a different elven sound shaped by forests and moonlight, try the Night Elf Name Generator.
