Classical sources describe druids as religious leaders in Iron Age Gaul and Britain. They also connect druids with roles such as teacher, judge, healer, and ritual specialist.

Evidence for personal naming customs is limited. Modern fantasy adds shapeshifting, nature magic, sacred groves, and named circles.
